 DRIVE IN MOBILITY TRANSPORTER

The ZEV Nano Van, Wheelchair Transporter was designed to offer disabled persons who are confined to wheelchairs or power wheelchairs, a low cost option to mega expensive converted large vans.   

• The rear door of the vehicle is power operated to lay down as a ramp for the wheelchair to drive in, and fit behind the controls. 
• The rear door has both a remote power operation and a on the dash control
• The vehicle has seating for just one person in a power chair with room behind them for shopping goods.
• The vehicle is equipped with power door locks, power windows, and a rear view camera in addition to 3 rearview mirrors.
• It has windshield wipers and windshield wash functions. 
• It has a heater, air scoop sunroof with dual fans for cabin cooling, and an AC option
• A "crawler gear" (2 speed transaxle) is fitted for very steep climbs if required
• Speedometers are available in kmh and mph for destination country.
• All controls are on the hands.  There are no foot controls of any sort.
• Two types of hand controls are available.  (A) With motorcycle style handlebars having motorcycle style hand brakes. (B) With a steering wheel and a brake and throttle bar as shown in photos below.  The handlebars allows the driver to set a little closer to the front. 
• An MP3 music player is fitted.
• The speedometer screen becomes the backup camera screen when in reverse

The ZEV Nano Van is constructed to be fully compliant with USA and EEC vehicle rules having turn signals, headlights and taillights, brake lights, backup lights, license plate lights, speedometer and odometer.  It is further compliant under the rules for an NEV or SLV having a speed of not more than 25 mph (or in km equivalent in non USA countries).  For those country or states requiring slower speeds, the vehicle maximum speed can be set according to the destination legal requirements.

The standard battery is a 60 ah silicate lead battery which in testing showed a range possible of 60 miles.  A lithium battery is also available as an option.   

For units sold in the USA a custom fit to your chair box is fitted into the car floor.  This constrains the chair from coming forward or sideways in a low speed impact.  A series of mounting holes to allow for straps to be fitted at different intervals to reflect the construction of different chairs.  These straps hold the chair down inside the box to prevent it from lifting.  It is assumed that the power chair itself will have a seatbelt for the driver.   An additional seatbelt can be installed bolted into the car as an option.
