the ZEV4100 offers 17% more power and up to 50% more range than any competitors 3500 watt bikes which cost the same or more.

The ZEV4100 is the hill climber and faster accelerating version of the ZEV3600 Lithium with 14% more torque for only $166 additional. (The 3600 only exists to comply with specific power limiting state laws)

For the EEC countries the ZEV4100 is made as a 4000 watt to comply with power/speed restrictions

Compared to the ZEV4100 with the advanced Lithium batteries:

  • The LA is $925 less expensive.
  • Range is reduced approximately 5 miles.
  •  Acceleration is slightly slower due both to the battery characteristics and the fact that the LA bike weighs approximately 145 kg / 319 lbs, which is approximately 24 kg / 53 lbs more than the lithium battery bike.
  • Charging time is increased from 2 hours to 6 hours (assuming 75% depletion and full charging volts/amps)
  • Lead Acid batteries require some maintenance. The batteries must be kept charged as Lead Acid batteries are seriously damaged or ruined by leaving them depleted. The lithium batteries retain over 80% of there available charge after one year while a lead acid battery will retain less than 22%.
  • Battery life is approximately 1/3rd as long as that of the lithium batteries. Expect about a 3.5 year life. However, they cost approximately only 1/3rd as much as the lithium batteries. Lead acid battery output falls as tempertures fall. If you use your bike in very cold weather, you should opt for the lithium battery powered ZEV3600  

The ZEV4100LA is a performer. It will outrun, outclimb, and has more range than competitors such as the 3000 watt EFun, Liberty, 3500 XM, or ZAP scooter or any others in its price range.
